Teens experience stress, too.

Teen therapy gives young people a safe space to work through challenges like anxiety, depression, self‑esteem issues, family conflict, social stress, and big life transitions. We help teens understand their thoughts and feelings, develop emotional regulation skills, and strengthen confidence and resilience.

Our therapists use approaches that are effective for adolescents, including CBT‑based strategies, DBT‑informed skills, trauma‑focused support, and relationship‑building tools. Sessions are collaborative, practical, and tailored to your teen’s needs.

What Youth Therapy Involves

Building a Relationship

When working with teens, building a trusting relationship is paramount. So, the first and most important phase of therapy will be showing your teen that no matter what they tell us, we won't gasp in shock, lecture, or scold.

Learning Coping Strategies

Just like adults, teens can experience some pretty significant stressors. Through therapy, your teen will learn healthy coping skills so they know how to respond when an issue arises.

Building Healthy Self-Esteem

Adolescence is often when self-esteem drops due to peer pressure or bullying. Therapy helps teens challenge negative thoughts, build self-compassion, and foster healthy relationships.

Teens' Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will my parents be involved in my therapy sessions?

Your privacy and confidentiality will be the most important thing to us, so if we feel it would be beneficial to invite your parent to a session, we would discuss it with you first. You will always have the right to discuss boundaries and preferences regarding how involved your parents are with your therapy.

Q: Will you tell my parents what I say in session?

This is a question many teens have, and it's a very good one! Maintaining your confidentiality is one of your therapist's most important jobs, as we have strict standards we have to follow to protect your privacy. What you discuss in therapy sessions will be kept confidential, even from your parents, except in very specific circumstances where there may be a risk of harm to yourself or others. Your therapist will explain confidentiality to you during your first session, and we encourage you to ask any questions you have!

Q: How do I know if I could benefit from youth counselling?

If you're finding it hard to cope with stress, emotions, or daily life, therapy can provide valuable support. Signs you might benefit from therapy include feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or sad most of the time, struggling to manage relationships, or experiencing significant changes in your behaviour or mood.

Q: What is the fee for a teen therapy session?

A 50-minute session is $155.
